Description
Scarce vintage LP featuring jazz pianist HORACE SILVER on the BLUE NOTE label from 1958.
Title of the LP is “Further Explorations.”
Personnel: Art Farmer – trumpet; Cliff Jordan – tenor sax; Horace Silver – piano; Teddy Kotick – bass; and Louis Hayes – drums.
MONO first pressing, label is blue/white with blue print. Has deep groove on both labels. Label address is: “Blue Note Records * 47 West 63rd * NYC” on both sides. Matrix number is hand-etched in trailoff area; RVG is machine stamped. Also has “ear symbol.” Catalog number is BLP 1589.
Guaranteed to be authentic and original – I do not sell bootlegs or modern reissues.

Jacket: Jacket is overall pretty nice, a few basic flaws. The lamination along the right vertical edge is beginning to lift and crack. Corner tips show wear. Seams are nice, with only one very tiny chip spot on the top seam near the upper left corner. Reverse is clean and free of writing or stickers, but has begun to darken with the passage of time. Oveall a decent cover that should be fine for many, if not most collectors.
Vinyl: Vinyl is in overall pretty nice shape, with probably 90 percent of the original gloss remaining. There are several scuffs and a few hairline marks that produce some tics in the first 2 minutes of side one, and then only an occasional soft tic after that point. The fidelity is very strong, and the overall listening experience is pretty enjoyable. I provided sound clips with a portion of the first track from each side so you could have a better idea of the sound quality.
