RARE 1971 TRUE FIRST PRESSING – 100% HAND-ETCHED AUDIOPHILE VARIANT 🔥
Up for sale is a stunning, collector-grade copy of the historic 1971 self-titled debut LP by Hound Dog Taylor and the HouseRockers (Alligator Records, AL-4701). This is a highly sought-after, 100% hand-scribed variant featuring the personal cursive initials of legendary mastering engineer Lee Hulko (LH) cut directly into the dead wax at Sterling Sound, alongside the iconic hand-etched house/castle symbol. Because Alligator Records was a tiny independent startup operating out of a small Chicago apartment in 1971, these first pressings were manufactured in very limited quantities. Most were played to death at house parties, making a pristine, beautifully preserved survivor like this an incredibly rare find for serious blues enthusiasts and vinyl historians.
This collectible record will be shipped well padded in a heavy duty custom album box (with album removed from cover).
Feel free to reach out with any questions before purchase. Best, David
