HOWARD McGHEE – THE RETURN OF HOWARD McGHEE - BETHLEHEM 42 – EX/M- - DG - MONO
Recorded on October 22, 1955, this Bethlehem session features Howard McGhee on trumpet, Sahib Shihab on alto and baritone, Duke Jordan on piano, Percy Heath on bass and Philly Joe Jones on drums. SIDE 1: GET HAPPY; TAHITIAN LULLABY; LOVER MAN; LULLABY OF THE LEAVES; YOURE TEASING ME and TRANSPICIOUS. SIDE 2: RIFFTIDE; OO-WEE, BUT I DO; DON’T BLAME ME; TWEEDLES and I’LL REMEMBER YOU. This is a Deep Groove MONO recording.
I have graded the LP as EX and the record jacket as M- for the following reasons. The vinyl on the LP would be graded as M-, except for a mark on Side 1, Cut 1, which is a surface mark and does not interfere with play. Other than that, the vinyl is clear of any marks on either side of the LP. There is no sign of wear in or around the spindle hole on either side. The record jacket is in excellent condition with little or no sign of wear. The only spot of wear is a very small area of lamination is loose at the top right of the cover.
