The first was recorded on February 14, 1957, featuring: : Conte Candoli, Lee Morgan (tp) Frank Rosolino (tb) Benny Golson, Bob Cooper (ts), Dick Shreve (p), Red Mitchell (b) and Stan Levey (d). They perform: THE CHAMP QUICKSILVER; STABLEMATES and MOTO. The second session, recorded on February 27, 1957 features the same personnel except for Wynton Kelly on piano, Red Mitchell on bas and Charlie Persip on drums. They perform: WINDWOOD, CELEDIA; REGGIE OF CHESTER and BLUES AFTER DARK. This is a MONO recording. I have graded the vinyl as M- and the record jacket as EX for the following reasons. The vinyl is clean of any marks on both sides. There is no sign of wear in or around the spindle hole. The vinyl still retains its original luster. The record jacket is in excellent condition, but there is some discoloration on the liner notes and a little wear on the front cover. There is one small taped seam on the upper right top corner.
