Description

HOWLIN’ WOLF Chess LP 1469 released in 1962, this is the 1965 re-release on blue Chess labels deep groove. Mono version, super rare to find especially in this condition! Vinyl played all the way through to determine sound quality.
Compilation of Chess singles from 1958-1962. This is an iconic and important record featuring songs by Willie Dixon and the wolf man himself.
There is no recent analog remastering of this title! Getting a nice original or re-pressing is the only way to get this as it should be, without horrible fake stereo or digital remastering.

VINYL in VG+ condition, would be VG++ if not for a small spot at the very beginning of Side 1 that causes repeating Swoosh from a stain on the vinyl. This may be able to be removed with alcohol or other record cleaner. The rest of the disc is immaculate and glossy in NEAR MINT condition. Playback is super clean and full. This is definitely not a hi-fi recording to begin with,, and Chess was never now for their dead-quiet vinyl. Overall incredible sound on this release.
COVER in G+ condition yellowing/staining, corner damage, rubbing, and several areas od chipping around the edges. The spine has paper loss throughout not much to read, creases along the edges. Spine and seams are still solid and there are no splits despite the chipping and paper loss issues!
INNER SLEEVE in G condition/Chess/Checkers sleeve has staining/yellowing, split on sides, top crease wear.
Lp will be shipped in proper mailer with record removed to prevent splitting. Record in new mo-fi sleeve.
