Original UK black Phillips label stereo 2nd press LP!
The 1st HP Lovecraft LP, Chicago based band who took the name from their collective love of the writer's books. George Edwards had recorded a few folk tracks, before playing with jazzman Will Mercier, where Edwards met Dave Michaels and later Guitarist Cavalleri, bassist McGeorge and drummer Tegsa completed the line-up. Their first album is a mostly psychadelic covers (albeit completely rearranged) recorded after they relocated to the San Francisco region following high-profile shows at the Fillmore West opening for PROCOL HARUM, DONOVAN, PINK FLOYD, TRAFFIC as well as all the local San Fran Flower Power groups and were on the brink of wide success...... The fully laminated sleeve is intact & is in EX condition, with some very light corner wear, lifting along the spine and laminate rubbing on the cover. The plain inner is intact & in EX condition. The record is in visually EX+ condition, with only a one or two faint sleeve removal hairlines marks visible on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with evidence of a couple of faint spindle markings! The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud hiss, pops or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some very brief background noise during the run in grooves, overall a really great, loud & punchy listen!! The matrix nos. are; 63362101, 1Y//1-420 stamper 1-1-1, 2Y//1-420 stamper 1-1-4. This is one of the early copies of the 1972 UK pressing of the original 1967 UK stereo issue of this album!!
All records are checked on an Acoustic Research deck before being listed and any flaws noted in the listing, so if you have any problems with the record please contact me for a full refund of original price & postage on return of the record (no partial refunds), no quibbles, no problems!! All grades are those used in the Record Collector Guide. All lp's are sent in cardboard record mailers with plastic covers and cardboard stiffeners to protect the LP's!! UK Signed For Postage is £4.50 for the first LP & is the same for up to four single LP's or two double LP's or more up to 2 KG!,
