 HUDSON LEDBETTER (LEADBELLY)  recorded by ALAN LOMAX at LOUISIANA STATE PRISON Goodnight Irene Rare Acetate 78rpm
"First Recording for the Library of Congress"
Disc starts with an extract of folk singing - Lomax and maybe Elizabeth Goodman? Then a spoken intro from Lomax, followed by a partial recording of Leadbelly.
Not bad for an acetate of this age - noisy at the start, but becomes quite clear for Leadbelly. The back side is grey tarnished the way these adetates are prone to go.   (Rega Planar 78 deck, Sugden Masterclass Amp/Sugden speakers)
I aim to grade conservatively, and NEVER use the term 'Mint' unless I know that a record is New and Unplayed.
