Condizioni : la copertina "flipback", laminata su entrambi i lati, presenta un pò di ring wear e del modesto logoramento  lungo il bordo inferiore e in particolare sulla costolina con titolo e vari crediti. Tutto è perfettamente leggibile tranne la lettera G della parola "recording" come potere notare guardando la scansione n° 5; grande stato, EX+ / il vinile ha pochi segni minori che condizionano l'ascolto soltanto con un paio o poco più di lievi clicchettii e un pò di rumore superficiale nelle parti che dividono una traccia dall'altra; grande stato, EX+

Condition : flipback cover is laminated on both sides showing a bit of ring wear and some light damage along the bottom edge and in particular on the spine where title and all other credits are perfectly readable except for the letter G in the word "recording" as you can observe looking at the scan No. 5, EX+ / vinyl has a few minor signs which affect listening with a couple or just over of slight clicks and some surface noise in dead wax which separates a track with another, EX+ 

GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie il controllo viene effettuato sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i dischi in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati, i 33 giri su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1 mentre gli EP e i singoli a 45 giri con un Thorens TD 166 BC fornito di una testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All records in auction have been fully heard. Lps on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge, EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : a prima vista il lato frontale della copertina che io ho dichiarato esclusivamente stampato in Giappone, può sembrare identico a quello uscito nel Regno Unito. In realtà non è così. Infatti, se voi osservate con attenzione la seconda metà delle due copertine, scansione No. 6, noterete che "Hurry Sundown" ha una differente colorazione così come lo sfondo che è grigio nella stampa Giapponese e non verde come in quella Britannica e soprattutto le immagini dei vari attori sono diverse.

Hugo Montenegro curò con molto impegno le composizioni per il film dando giustamente importanza al luogo geografico dove veniva raccontata la storia. In Georgia, stato del Sud con tradizioni e vicende storiche piuttosto diverse da quelli del Nord. La trama è ambientata nella fine degli anni quaranta, epoca ormai lontana da quella di "Via col Vento" nonostante la Georgia in comune. Eppure nei bei temi sinfonici di Hurry Sundown qui e là affiorano alcuni richiami alla musica di Max Steiner, nessun plagio, sia ben chiaro, ma al contrario la dimostrazione di come la sezione d'archi, il pianoforte e gli strumenti a fiato condotti dal compositore newyorkese fossero in perfetta sintonia con la trama del film sotto tutti i suoi molteplici aspetti. Fra i brani di natura non classica segnalo: "Charlie's Trip" (a7) dai suoni coinvolgenti su una ritmica veloce con strumenti a fiato, la tromba in particolare, e la batteria. "Playing with Dynamics" (b2) con buoni sapori jazz provenienti dalla tromba e percussioni in sottofondo. Ci sono, infine, due canzoni corali. Si tratta delle due versioni di "Hurry Sundown" (a3, b1). Nel primo un uomo ed una donna cantano uno spiritual con gli altri membri del coro in sottofondo. Nella seconda il brano assume caratteristiche di ballata ritmica in cui il coro si divide tra il canto degli uomini e i vocalizzi delle donne.

Notes : at first glance the front side of the cover that I have declared solely printed in Japan, it may seem identical to the UK release. Actually it is untrue. In fact, if you look carefully the second half of the two covers, scan No. 6, you will notice that the words "Hurry Sundown" have a different color as well as their background that is gray in the Japanese pressing and not green as in the British one and above all the images of the actors are different.

Hugo Montenegro treated with great dedication the film score rightfully giving importance to the geographical place where the story was told. The State of Georgia in the south-eastern part of USA whose traditions and historical past are rather different from those of the northern States. The plot is set in the late forties, a time very far from that of "Gone with the Wind" in spite of Georgia in common. Nevertheless in the beautiful symphonic themes of Hurry Sundown emerge here and there some recalls to the music of Max Steiner. Mind you, no plagiarism but rather a demonstration of how the string section, piano and wind instruments conducted by the New Yorker composer were in perfect harmony with the plot of the film in all its aspects. Among the pieces from non-classical nature I recommend: "Charlie's Trip" (a7) by engaging sonorities with fast rhythmic cadence of wind instruments, the trumpet in particular, and drums. "Playing with Dynamics" (b2) has some good  jazz flavors from trumpet and percussion in the background. There are, finally, two choral songs. These are the two versions of "Hurry Sundown" (a3, b1). In the first a man and a woman sing a beautiful spiritual with the other members of the choir in the background. In the other version, the piece has features of rhythmic ballad in which the chorus is divided between singing men and vocalizing women.

Avidità, odio razziale e passioni in un film drammatico di produzione USA. Regia di Otto Preminger, con Michael Caine, Jane Fonda, John Phillip Law, Diannah Carroll, Robert Burgess, Faye Dunaway e George Kennedy.
