TRULY THE greatest Humble Pie studio album in a career that was about to be launched into the stratosphere. Self produced, the album gets a massive kick start with the super raw hard rock of 'Hot 'N Nasty' arguably inbued with one of the Pie's greatest guitar riffs. It really is a massive propostion with Marriott letting of steam in fine form; that voice, that soul and that swagger.
Elsewhere its equally as riviting. 'The Fixer' (love that title) meters out the funk whilst inspired covers of 'Road Runner' and Eddie Cochran's 'C'Mon Everybody' ensures that the bands r n' b roots are properly guarded and exploited. Best track, and their most successful at rock radio, is '30 Days In The Hole', a montser boogie cut with appropriate soul injection and Marriot going totally ballistic in the vocal department. It really is that good.
