Description
HUMBLE PIE - 'TOWN AND COUNTRY.' STEREO.
UK 1st pressing on pink IMMEDIATE labels. IMSP 027. (1969). 1U/1U matrix.
Do not underestimate how rare this is as a UK pressing. In this condition it is super rare!
UK non-laminated sleeve grades EXCELLENT PLUS (EX+) condition. Intact, fully legible spine - so rare for a sleeve of this fragility and prone-ness to wear. Clean and solid condition with only very minor signs of handling and storage wear. Super nice! Sleeve would grade Near Mint were it not for the tiniest, almost invisible and barely detectable sticker tear on the top of the front sleeve. Fortunately this appears on the area where the window is, so it doesn't detract at all from the sleeve image which is otherwise vibrant, un-faded and almost impossible to find without numerous noticeable wear and tear.
The front of sleeve displays no major signs of ring wear, just a slight disc impression towards the bottom which has rubbed about an inch or so from the print. The spine is fully intact and legible with the vast majority of black print still remaining. The reverse of the sleeve is still fully black showing only very light ring wear. Steve Marriott and Peter Frampton are pictured on the here reverse. This is in amazing condition considering the majority of copies I have seen.
Vinyl grades EXCELLENT PLUS PLUS (EX++) to NEAR MINT (NM/M-). Top, upgrade condition and great example of this very psychy sounding progressive rock record. Smooth pink IMMEDIATE RECORD CO. LTD. Labels are in amazing condition.
Great tracks throughout and some truly inspired music - particularly the killer intro to 'Silver Tongue' one of the more rockier tracks on what is generally regarded as their mostly acooustic themed album. Swirly hammond organ, creamy guitar licks and Marriott and Frampton's incredible vocals. Some sitar blended in makes it a cool period piece of experimental UK psych/prog.
You will find it hard to locate a better example of both this sleeve and the record.
The winner will be very pleased indeed with this copy.
Includes the original die-cut paper printed lyrics inner sleeve with inset top opening and angled corners - in top shape!
Vinyl weight: 148 grams.
