Description

This is the Numero Group's limited-edition reissue of an EP (in the old-school way: two 7"s) released by Hüsker Dü way way back when--before they signed to SST.
The two 7"s are actual rather different! "Writer's Cramp" b/w "Let's Go Die" is fast, loud, noisy, much like their early SST stuff. It's hardcore, basically. The other single is more interesting. With one vocal by Grant Hart and one by Bob Mould, it sees the very young band wearing their British post-punk influences on their sleeves. There's a strong Joy Division quality to the bass and guitars and the loud/soft/loud dynamics (even the "dehumanizing" themes of the songs are familiar from lots of post-punk bands). So this is rather different Husker Du than you'd find on Land Speed Record or Metal Circus. In a way it gives an early hint at the musical ambitions a band well before these were really evident on their LPs. So it's kinda fascinating that way. Also the Numero Group packaging is kind of insanely good. How do I know? Well, I bought one for myself, one for a friend. But that friend found the EP elsewhere, so I'm tossing this out there on eBay.
Anyway, it's brand new, still in shrink, etc. Bid with confidence. And enjoy your day.
