Description

A real piece of jazz history from 1965 from Harold McNair with Ornette Coleman's Sidemen on the Island label. This is my own copy bought in 1969 - a much loved record - I was a McNair wannabe - but sadly the talent was not quite there! This record has sold on eBay several times over the last few years and the price is reflective of those actual prices paid.

This music never made it to CD which is a tragedy for jazz lovers, but hopefully good for me ;-)

This was Harold McNair's first album; note the incorrect spelling of McNair (macnair) and Alan Branscombe.

This is a UK first press on white Island deep groove label.

The music is superb from McNair whose fluid phrasing and incredible technique on flute is just wonderful; his tenor sax stuff is good too.

There are three lovely bass solos from David Izenzon and Branscombe's piano is featured several times too.

The jacket is in good condition and the record is good too - see pictures.

Please listen to the sound samples of the beginning and end of each track. There are some quite audible clicks (on sample 9 provided) at the end of O Barquinho but I don't think they detract from the listening pleasure.

The sound clips were made by an Olympus LS-12; a lovely bit of recording kit!

Postage cost is £3.95

I do no accept responsibility for damages caused by transit companies during transit.

I have several other Harold McNair LPs for sale and these will be added over the next day or so.
