Description
Harry Nilsson - Nilsson's Scatalogue (RCA SPS-33-567), 1971. PROMO.
Created to hype the release of Harry Nilsson's album, "The Point", to a group of college radio reps, this is an extremely hard-to-find RCA rarity. This piece has that hurried, seat-of-the-pants look, seeing as how the record was only released with a custom paper sleeve [see photos] that declared this was a collection of "song pieces from the Nilsson Catalogue, creatively sequenced by Richie Paladino, a promotion man for RCA, telling the story of 1941". Songs are snippets from the albums 'Pandemonium Shadow Show', 'Aerial Ballet' (identified incorrectly here as 'Arial Ballet') and 'The Point'. [See close-up photo for track listing.]
Grab this copy now as this rarely comes up for bid except in bootleg format. Any copy not produced in the USA by RCA or any copy on colored or splattered vinyl is a BOOTLEG. This is a legitimate, original pressing, one of a small run of perhaps only 100, maybe a few more.
When will you ever see this offered again? My guess is that it will be a long while.
