Description

“Harry Partch”   LP  RARE release. Great record of important works by this indispensable master of creativity. Features the classic 1943 work “U.S.Highball”  (for Kithara, Surrogate Kithara, Chromelodeon, Pollux, Castor ,Bass Marimba, Cloud-Chamber Bowls, Boo, Diamond Marimba, Spoils Of War and Blo-boy (together), and Voices), the totally amazing work from 1955, “Ulysses At The Edge” (which features Baritone and Alto Saxophones(!), as well as the mare familiar Partch instrumentation of Boo, Cloud-chamber Bowls, and Diamond Marimba), and from 1954, his wonderful study from Lewis Carroll-“O Frabjous Day! (The Jobberwack)”, for Harmonic Canon, Bass Marimba, and Voice. Includes photocopied insert with recording info, and single sheet back insert with nice photo of Partch with his Gourd Tree and Cone Gong.

2 inserts and handmade cover.  vinyl, cover, and inserts are near mint.  Says "Gate 5" in handwritten pen ink on the back.  I'm not sure if this is an actual Gate 5 release.  Rare nonetheless.
