The Harry South Orchestra - The Sweeney Main Theme (closing version) / The Sweeney Main Theme (opening version) - (Demo A Label)
7" VINYL Record. Much sought after.
I am not sure if these are the actual recordings used on the TV series, these are in stereo, whereas on TV they would have been in mono and compressed. The 'opening version' soon drops into a funky elongated jazz break before reverting back to the familiar tune to close the side. The 'closing version' is more restrained and reflective like on the TV series closing credits.
The vinyl has been played quite a few times and you can hear crackles, particularly at the beginning of each side.
In general though, the record plays well with the instruments clear and no noticeable wear of the grooves.
A rare chance for you to get it.
I have more 70s singles on my other listings - many with promo labels, all in nice condition, check them out.
The pictures are scans of the actual record done on a flatbed scanner, please inspect them carefully, you can zoom to a higher resolution (ebay permitting). No other seller has the confidence to show you scans of an actual 40 year old vinyl record.
