Still in the original factory shrink wrap; crisp, tight and spanking clean. One mild (back only) corner crease; no other creases, no wear, dings, indents, drill hole, cut-outs, splits or other issues. Straight edges and sharp corners all around.

MANDEL's Crowning Achievement - and a stone classic of the genre - featuring his acclaimed "Wade In The Water"
Mandel's debut remains his best early work, introducing an accomplished Blues-Rock/Psych-Rock guitarist capable of producing beguiling, fluid lines and a variety of tasteful distortion and buzzing via an assortment of tone pedals and customized amplifiers. He augmented his flash with an adventurous appetite for (Axelrod/Schiffrin like) orchestrated, quasi-classical strings  -especially in the eerie symphonic title cut "Cristo Redentor", jazz-blues-rock fusion in the mold of The Electric Flag (as on "Before Six"), Soul-inflected psych (as on "Wade in The Water") and even a bit of country in the presence of top steel guitarist Pete Drake in the Nashville sessions.

Most amazingly, all these influences and stylistic breadth feel completely integrated here and of a unified, very compelling whole; rather than a scattered mish-mash that one might expect from lesser hands.

GREAT array of back-up musicians, including Charlie Musselwhite, Steve Miller, Pete Drake (of Bob Dylan's studio band circa "John Wesley Harding"), Armando Perazza (of Santana), Graham Bond (just fresh from jamming with Jimi Hendrix) and a slew of others hand-picked for each session.

The album is engineered and mastered by Eddie Kramer, Hendrix' personal engineer, which tremendously showcases the intense, thick, fuzzy, driven guitar sound.

Of course, we can't forget that great Psychedelic cover art from ALTON KELLEY (famed 1960's Fillmore / Avalon Poster artist) showing strong influence from his then-recent 'jams' with Rick Griffin. This is one of those covers that are so important to have in TOP condition - and so rarely found as such, due to this title's infamously easy cover wear and the fact that so many of them have the drill hole.
