From my own vast private collection gathered over last 45+ years ...these mostly from 1973 - 1978 I had my own Record Store here in Northern California in the 1970's and 80's -and bringing in wonderfully vibrant and amazing Progressive Rock Imports was a top specialty and priority - I was (still am) so nuts about this music that I had 3 different evolving weekly Radio Programs dedicated to it over 20 years - and loved nothing more than turning folks on to these bands and immersing myself and my audience in these exotic sounds. Now it is finally time for me to pass them on - my hardest LPs to part with, some 8 boxes of which I shall be listing throughout this Spring. Many of the leading progenitors of the 1st progressive era, but quite a few more obscure but no less amazing artists of the period. . *Sadly I am NOT FAST at listing and can am lucky to get around 50 up at a time, but they will keep on coming (as I pause between series, to focus on top level packing and immediate shipping) so keep checking back.
This leads me to the subject of "collecting" purchases for combined shipping with further purchases, which some ask for. I am happy to save LPs that are purchased within SAME Auction Series period (7 Days from 1st won auction) IF YOU ASK Me to. I MUST receive payment within 7 days of initial purchase. If you are in another country, wishing to have won/purchased LPs HELD ASIDE longer, for future (within 30 days maximum) combined purchase shipping, your note on your PayPal payment to HOLD items for combined shipping later will guarantee their being saved aside for your further bidding. When you state that you are done, your invoice will be revised to reflect complete, correct shipping discount at that time. If you DO NOT ASK me to hold, item will Ship within 24 hours. CHECK MY FEEDBACK, I am ALWAYS 100% RELIABLE on this. International bidders note that any package over 4 Lbs. (usually 5 to 6 LPs or more) MUST ship by PRIORITY MAIL INTERNATIONAL. US Post Office no longer ships above that weight at the lower, slower 1st Class International rate. . The vinyl here is in uniformly spectacular condition (Most being EX+ to NM) always extremely carefully handled. Some of the covers have minor issues - a small handful have significant issues, but the great majority are in VG+ to EX+ condition. Almost everything offered here is Original 1st Press - Full Details for each given in Description below. .

Formed in 1972 and named after a motorway road sign, Hatfield & The North were one of the most original and musically adventurous English bands of the 1970s, comprised of former members of Caravan, Gong, Delivery and Egg, the group wrote and played fearlessly creative music, became a legend with music fans in Europe, America and Japan, but broke up, following this, their 2nd LP, in 1975 just as its reputation began to build.
Featuring some of the most stunning musicianship ever associated with England's Canterbury scene, Hatfield and the North's second LP features, like their eponymous debut, Dave Stewart on keyboards, Phil Miller on guitar, Richard Sinclair on bass and vocals, and Pip Pyle on drums (supplemented by a few choice Canterbury guest instrumentalists and the ever-ethereal Northettes with their "la la" backing vocals).
The participants show an admirable sense of restraint and, like their Canterbury peers, gracefully avoid the pomposity and bombast of better-known prog rockers of the era, such as Emerson, Lake & Palmer and Yes. The Hatfields were masters of the segue and the most masterly demonstrations of instrumental technique wind up bleeding into obscure and whimsical vocal parts of sublime angst-free insosciance, from the lips of former Caravan founder Richard Sinclair.
