Description
Hawkwind Live at the Kinetic Playground 1971 brand new white vinyl. Bought new by myselfbut never played. A live album from early era classic Hawkwind featuring songs and interpretations from their first 2 albums plus early versions of the classic 'Silver Machine' and a spoken poetry version of the lyrics to what became 'Spirit of the Age' some years later. A fascinating insight into the band's development before the classic 'Space Ritual' era despite drummer Terry Ollis and Nik Turner's sax being missing in action. NIk got by with just his flute and Ollis was temporarily replaced by Pink Fairies drummer Twink, a long time HW associate. The performance itself is fairly typical of the band at this time and the recording is pretty fine considering it's age and the reputed source. Fans of this time in the band's extensive history will enjoy this immensely. Selling due to imminent move and downsizing - along with many more HW vinyls, so keep a look out.
