Description

Hear 1962 Two Friends (Mancha & Jackson) Northern Soul (Just to Much to Hope For

Two Friends – “Just to Much to Hope For” b/w “Family Reunion” (H.P.C> 101001). Good fall of 1962 release by the young Steve Mancha (just out of the Jaywalkers) and Wilburt Jackson on the new Harvey Fuqua short-lived label before Harvey sold out to Motown. Mancha later had several records that became Northern favorites and later became lead singer for 100 Proof Aged in Soul. Most Motown collectors are probably more familiar with the version of "Too Much to Hope For" cut in 1968 for Motown Records by Tammi Terrell but this is the scarce original. Take a listen to a little of both sides. Record looks in rough condition but plays nice so I’ll call it G+ condition.
