Description
(Hear) 1970s Canyon (Podipto Rel) Private Press Garage Rock 45 (Jumpin Jedadiah)
Canyon – “Jumpin Jedadiah” b/w “A Day Like This” (Canyon27269) Obscure, early 1970's private press 45 by this band with a West-coast rock sound. There's a strong connection to late-1960's Midwest hippie band Podipto on this: both sides were produced by Podipto member Jack Sundrud (currently playing with Poco), and the songs were co-written by group member Wilson Roberts (A-side), and Roberts, Karen Lund and Mike Michalski (B-side). "Jumpin Jedadiah" is a West-coast styled rocker with "He don't need to smoke no weed" lyrics, Skynyrd/Allman Bros.-type guitar and female vocals; B-side is Bread-style soft-rock ballad. Take a listen. Record is in strong VG+ condition.
