EXTREMELY RARE & HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE ITEM!
CR 1001-45 (includes all 33 one-sided records, with original covers and road case)
In 2007, Classic Records outdid themselves again with the ultimate Heifetz / RCA recordings collector’s 12” – 45 rpm edition box set. The production of this box set is in the same vein as the legendary Classic Led Zeppelin box set. All nine Heifetz titles previously issued by Classic Records at 33 rpm were made available as single sided 12" 45 rpm releases on Classic’s proprietary 200g Super Vinyl Profile. In addition, the 33 discs that comprise this deluxe edition were housed in the now famous Classic Records Road Case. This limited edition set is now a highly sought after collectors item. Every album was mastered directly from the original master tapes.
33 records total:
LSC 1903-45 (Four Disc Set) Brahms: Violin Concerto
LSC 1992-45 (Four Disc Set) Beethoven: Violin Concerto
LSC 2129-45 (Three Disc Set) Tchaikovsky: Violin Concerto
LSC 2314-45 (Four Disc Set) Prokofieff: Violin Concerto
LSC 2435-45 (Two Disc Set) Sibelius: Violin Concerto
LSC 2603-45 (Four Disc Set) Bruch: Scottish Fantasy
LSC 2652-45 (Four Disc Set) Bruch & Morzart: Violin Concerto
LSC 2734-45 (Four Disc Set) Glazounov & Morzart: Violin Concerto
LSC 2767-45 (Four Disc Set) Rozsa: Violin Concerto/ Romantic Fantasy
Each title above includes authentic reproductions of the original sleeve art & labels with the additional discs housed in individual white jackets, presented in a heavy duty road case.
*A very limited number of these boxed sets were produced and sold out almost immediately upon announcement of their availability and no more were made. This unopened set came directly from the Classic Records' Archive. From the start of Classic Records in 1994, Michael Hobson, insisted on having as complete an archive as possible of all varieties and issues of Classic Records' various releases (180g, 200g, Blue Vinyl, Test Pressings and memorabilia from the Classic Records years as a reference of what had been done.
The CR Archive was one of the few things Acoustic Sounds did not acquire as part of the deal to buy Classic in 2010. Still intact, in its entirety (with only a few holes) sits the CR Archive which will be offered exclusively on this shop by special arrangement with Michael Hobson. Each piece has an official Classic Records Archive Sticker on it and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity hand signed by Michael Hobson personally to assure authenticity and enhance the collectibility over time. Generally, only two archive copies, most often from the first stamper, were added to the archive. Further, Hobson maintains a personal archive of 5 copies of each release which we are trying to convince him to allow us to offer as well! This is not only a unique opportunity to own a piece of Classic Record's history but also the chance to have some of the best pressings (close if not the equal of Test Pressings) of Classic's various issues over time.
In the case of the Classic Archive copies of The Led Zeppelin and Heifetz 45 rpm Road Case Editions it is reported that Hobson personally selected the copies of the records that went into the editions by listening to 1st stamper pressings to determine when the “stamper” was in the “sweet spot” and pressing the best sounding records. It is rumored that Hobson drove a number of employees to tears with his obsession with finding the best pressings in the run - sad really but it means that these “archive” copies are the absolute best of the best…..priceless!
This set has not been moved from the climate controlled air-conditioned storage for all these years. This unopened box set is in the factory sealed outer carton as shown in the pictures. This box will be shipped in another outer box with careful packing to ensure that the road case and its outer box are kept in new condition.
ULTRA RARE --- Good luck!
