RCA Victor LDS 6159-Stereo
1962 33 1/3 RPM 3 disc box set LP release, featuring violinist Jascha Heifitz with celleist Gregor Piatigorsky. Pianist Leonard Pennario and violist William Primrose join as guests, along with a few others. Copy at hand is an original 1st press RCA Living Stereo "shaded dog" LP release, offering audiophile-quality sound reproduction. This LP came to us from the estate of a former RCA representative. Set is part of RCA Victor's fabulous SORIA series, which was the "cadillac" of the RCA line. Soria release typically had deluxe textured covers, beautiful booklets/librettos with color art reproductions, etc. Textured hardcover for this set is extremely clean with almost no wear-back cover has a minor scuff or two. Box corners are intact and sturdy. Discs and booklet are housed in an inner hardcover jacket, which slides out. Deluxe booklet is enclosed within. All discs (red label with silver print-"no dog" label design-"deep groove"-"Living Stereo" at bottom center) are clean, glossy and Near Mint. Dead wax on the 3 discs bear the following desirable early markings:
disc 1: "I* (Indiana pressing), "1S/1S" (stamper numbers), "A1/A1" (mother numbers)
disc 2: "I* (Indiana pressing), "1S/1S" (stamper numbers), "D1/A1" (mother numbers)
disc 3: "I* (Indiana pressing), "3S/5S" (stamper numbers), "A1/A1" (mother numbers)
Vinyl plays beautifully throughout with only minor surface noise and rich, clear sound!
Extremely rare Soria/Living Stereo Chamber set with a high Canfield Guide value! Offered at a low price with NO reserve!
