Description
I didn't know anything about Henry Cow when I wandered into my local record shop and found this amazing looking LP with an ornate picture of a sock on the front cover, song titles like "Nirvana for Mice" and "With the Yellow Half-Moon and Blue Star", a mind-boggling array of musical instruments. Add the fact that it was being released on Virgin Records (which was a VERY cool label back then) and I was sold! I wasn't disappointed either. I still think this is Henry Cows' finest moment.
I must take a few lines here to point out that the audio quality of this LP is particularly fine. It may even be good enough to be one of those records that you might use to demonstrate to non-believers, just why vinyl beats the digital formats into a cocked hat. Couple the sonic quality with some of the musical passage, such as the lead guitar solo on "The Tenth Chaffinch" for example, and the result is something very special indeed!
The LP has A2u and B1u matrices, and I think you would have difficulty in finding a better original copy than this one, and here it is offered at a 99p start price with no reserve!
The vinyl LP is very clean, with some surface hairlines of the type that are only visible in sunlight, and don't affect playback. The disc plays almost perfectly with an audio of beautiful clarity. The labels are clean with only 1 spindle mark on side A. The outer sleeve is fine with no edge-wear, ring-wear or label marks. It is the original sleeve that is fully laminated and the spine is compressed at top and bottom.
Postage is for Royal Mail 1st Class in the UK, or you can collect it. I will post internationally, and I apologize in advance for the high international costs, but sadly, that is the reality of UK postage rates. I will be delighted to combine purchases for postal discounts. Please ask for details.
The LP will be packaged in a cardboard mailer with stiffener, PVC outer sleeve, and the disc will packed outside the LP cover, so as not to damage the edges.
Thanks for looking, and please see my other listings for more Henry Cow and left-field items.!
