Description

Henry Thomas 78 Record - Jonah in the Wilderness / When the Train Comes Along. Pre-War Blues on Vocalion A 1140 and B 1140, respectively. Grade is VG on both sides.  Has clean labels on both sides with minimal spindle wear.

I know how to pack 78s and will use the pancake method and will also double box the record. Found at a flea market in South Carolina.

More information: This record originally belonged to a professional studio musician from Columbia, SC. He was an older fellow and gave audio tubes and records to his landscaper; I forget the reason. I have not cleaned the record, yet, since it looked very good when received. I took more photos to capture the imperfections. There are light scratches and scuff marks. None deep. Most of the original luster remains and there is no significant groove wear. The record does look as good as it appears, but there are some very small scratches that are hard to see and also show in the photos. Lastly, between the grooves and the outer rim are two flea bites (in the smooth area just off of the grooves just at the rim). I usually sell records through a record store in North Carolina, but with a wedding coming up in January...I am selling this one myself. I will ask an audiophile friend to play this record and I will update this auction ad with the results in a couple of days. Thank you.

Cleaned the records with the Spin-Clean Record Washer System. Dried them and then took photos with my wife's iPhone and the pictures came out looking more like the actual records. I will try to get recordings of them tomorrow.
