Herb Alpert Fandango Mint Sealed Original 1982 First Press SP-3731 LP Vinyl

This is a factory sealed copy of Fandango by Herb Alpert. This is a first pressing on vinyl still sealed from 1982.

This copy of Fandango was purchased at a New England record shop that closed in late 1984. Price sticker shows it was last offered for sale at the record store in fall of 1982. It has been stored indoors and kept upright since 1982.

Fandango was released on A&M Records. It is the twenty first album from easy listening pop musician Herb Alpert of Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass. Fandango is one of Alpert’s most popular albums. The title track was composed by Juan Carlos Calderónm, as were five other tracks, including the single “Route 101”. Fandango started as a commemoration for his first hit song, “The Lonely Bull”, which was released twenty years before in 1962. It became a Billboard 200 “Top Album Pick” and peaked at 100 in May of 1982.  The album was recorded at CBS in Mexico City, Mexico, A&M in Hollywood, California and Studio Sound in North Hollywood, California. Herb Alpert and José Quintana produced the record.

This is a great and cool piece of pop jazz history for a collector. And way cool to know it has been sealed for over 40 years!

Condition: The shrink is in good shape with some expected wear in the corners and some slight tearing. Looking good overall. Features the original price sticker from the record shop.

The cover has some slight wear on the corners due to it being moved on the shelf (see photos). There may be a slight bit of ring wear. The cover is fairly straight (see photos). Great condition overall.

The vinyl is brand new old stock and never been opened.
