Description

Herb Ward – ‘Hands Off She’s Mine’ / ‘If I Pray’ – Buddy 244 (US)

An early, very rare offering from the late (Ward passed in 2013), great Philly artist who brought us ‘Strange Change’ on Argo and ‘Honest to Goodness’ on RCA. ‘Hands Off She’s Mine’ (written by Luther Dixon) backed with the self-penned (his real name was Herbert McCracken) ‘If I Pray’ on Frank Virtue’s Buddy imprint was Herb’s first record . “Virtue Studio”-stamped original in great shape; it may be some time before another copy comes round, so don’t miss it!  

Condition: VG++; essentially as good as these primitive pressings get (please listen to the clips). Clean labels (please see scans).
