Description

Cover = Very Good, promotional stamp on front. Record = Good, some pops and snaps

Hi my name is Rick Jones and I'm a musician. These albums are all from my life long collection. Some I bought new, some I bought at yard sales, and some I won, shooting pool, but all were used for listening. I didn't get these as collectibles and the condition on them varies enormously.

Since I am not an expert on LP restoration I felt it was better to do just a light cleaning of the LP and no restoration on the covers. Some have stickers or writing on them and I'll try to point that out. I've posted pictures of the actual records but had a recurring problem with a vertical line reflecting.

Most of the inner sleeves that were blank or badly deteriorated have been replaced by new acid-free, anti-static rice paper-lined sleeves. Some have the original inner sleeve included and I will note that. The outer sleeves are new and constructed of archival quality, acid-free, anti-static clear biaxially-oriented polypropylene. Each record will be wrapped in bubble wrap and are sent in corrugated cardboard mailers.  If you have any questions about the quality of a particular LP contact me.

I want to be as upfront about the condition of each album as I can so I'll try to describe and rate them accordingly and in plain English. If you have any questions about the quality of a particular LP contact me and I'll try to describe the condition better. Remember these are vinyl records that were printed a long time ago and there are going to be pops and snaps. I'll let you know if it sounds like an occasional twig breaking or like you're listening in a hail storm. If you are new to vinyl consider using a needle designed for older records or a multi-band equalizer to remove some of the noise.

I'm selling all 900 of my mostly jazz LP's. (Also some DownBeat, JazzTimes & Coda mags from the 70's too). Everything from Bunny Berigan to Don Cherry to Frank Sinatra. This will include classics like "Kind of Blue" & "Giant Steps".

We no longer live in an age where jazz clubs can afford a small jazz group with horns. I plan to use the money from these sales to underwrite monthly instrumental jazz gigs and jam sessions in Las Vegas and possibly some other locations. If possible I'd like to use a completely different rhythm section and feature a different soloist(local & non-local) for each gig, that way more musicians can have an opportunity. The main thing is that the musicians are compatible, I want everyone to have a good time. I also plan to live stream and post the video for a historical archive, kind of a time capsule of Las Vegas jazz and to help fund and promote future gigs. In each group, I'll put the old with the young, (college age) and especially reach out to women musicians. After the initial gig each gig will focus on a different area of jazz, Cool, BeBop, Mainstream, Fusion, etc., or specific artists like John Coltrane or Herbie Hancock. I'll also try to vary the instrumentation as much as possible. After the first two sets, I'll open it up to a jam and invite all who want to partake to sit in. I'd also like to include an artist (painting. sculpture, etc.) at each concert to help bring the artist's community to our event. This is a concept of using inclusion to create community and it can be very exciting. Success would mean that after a jump start it will find a way to become financially feasible, it could happen and I'm optimistic about the opportunities after the pandemic is over.

I've included pictures of the LP's to help you make an educated decision but all sales are final.
