Herbie Hancock - Sextant (VMP Edition)

Vinyl LP

2023 Reissue - Vinyl Me Please - Essentials Edition.

Pressed on 180Gram  "Lunar" Marbled Colored Vinyl + 'OBI'.

By 1973, Herbie Hancock already had both feet planted firmly in the future — some 50 years based on the vast, electronic funk he crafted during this period. How could he have known that this music would soundtrack block parties in the ‘80s and give ground to a burgeoning hip-hop culture? How could a man so steeped in the history of jazz be so untethered to form and genre that he created a sound all his own? Did he envision a world much like we’re living in now, where smartphones dictate our lives and musical compositions co-mingle without adherence to artificial marketing terms? Herbie likely wasn’t that prescient, but I wouldn’t doubt his genius. Based on the interplanetary trance funk of Sextant, his 11th studio album, such foresight wouldn’t be surprising. Then and always, Herbie was the master of the road less traveled. He was the light guiding his peers where they needed to go.

2025 Reissue on Standard Black Vinyl.

Among the most important groups in hip-hop history, legendary Brownsville, Brooklyn duo M.O.P. has been the embodiment of hardcore rap for three decades. They’ve been signed to iconic labels like Roc-A-Fella and G-Unit, released one of the biggest rap singles ever in "Ante Up", and did it all without compromising their sound or integrity. Back in 2014, Lil Fame and Billy Danze unleashed the acclaimed album Street Certified, executive produced by DJ Premier. Featuring appearances by Mobb Deep, Busta Rhymes, and Maino, the project is classic New York hip-hop, with the type of raw, unfiltered music fans have come to expect from the Mash Out Posse.

Street Certified is now available on standard black vinyl, complete with redesigned artwork.

Executive produced by the legendary DJ Premier, Street Certified contains 9 brand new M.O.P. tracks, featuring Busta Rhymes, Mobb Deep, and Maino.
