Herbie Hancock - Takin' Off - Blue Note BST 84109 STEREO pressing with Van Gelder stamp in runoff on both sides, no Ear New York USA on both sides of label, 43 West 61st St., New York 23 on cover
Lineup includes: Freddie Hubbard, Dexter Gordon, Butch Warren, Billy Higgins
Cover Condition: VG+, some minor ringwear on front, small stains, reverse is clean with no writing, minor flaking on seams, small 1/4" splits near the opening Record Condition: Side 1 VG+, couple of light unfeelable hairlines, paper scuffs. Side 2 VG+ small pressing bubble, two blemishes that look like they would impact the audio but only cause a light click for two revolutions collectively. Both sides play-grade at VG++.
About Me: I'm a vinyl collector focusing exclusively on jazz records. I don't sell a lot, but when I do it is from my personal collection. You'll note that nearly all of my feedback ratings are either as a buyer or seller of records and have extensive experience with grading and evaluating them.
My Grading System: My grading doesn't differ from the majority of eBay sellers. Near Mint is reserved for virtually unplayed records and covers without any splits or material flaws. VG++ is a rating reserved for records or covers that are clearly better than VG+ but have one or two cosmetic issues that don't affect play but prevent it from being near mint. VG+ records and covers are clearly used but very enjoyable. There may be very light hairline scratches that are not feelable, paper scuffs, flaking seams or perhaps minor seam splitting. VG records are usually heavily played or may have a needle-drop scratch, both of which will add some background noise in the audio. There may be heavier seam splitting or other cosmetic flaws. VG- records have even more background noise, likely many hairline scratches with pops, but it will still play through without skipping. Covers likely have more extensive ringwear and seam splits. G is a rating I rarely use, except when selling rare records.
