- For sale is an authentic, Stereo copy of The Beatles Yesterday & Today album aka ‘The butcher album’ or ‘2nd State’. Issued in 1966, this recalled LP was pasted over with the familiar trunk cover slick. This is a very nice looking copy with a clean front color. Spine and seams are intact. The trunk slick is adhered very slightly askew showing a sliver of the butcher cover underneath at bottom lf. corner even tho. Ringo’s black turtleneck is also clear in case there was any doubt. Wear to corners and a small bit of trunk slick missing at top rt. There’s a faded name on back and residue where a small sticker was removed in top lf. Comes with original inner slv. & record. The LP grades about VG+ or so but this auction is more about the jacket. The RIAA #5 on back indicates Los Angeles, CA pressing plant. As most collectors know, the stereo copies are harder to find than mono ones with about 4 to 1 ratio of mono to stereo copies.
This makes stereo versions the more valuable of the 2.
