Description
Little Richard. Here's Little Richard. 1957. First press on Specialty. SP 100. This is the rare first press from 1957 that was soon pressed again in 1957, with the catalogue number SP 2100. This record weighs a staggering 210 grams!
Record plays well, with surface noise. I have had multiple copies of the first pressing of this great record, and they ALL play with some surface noise. There are some minor marks on the vinyl, as well as some manufacturing dimples, typical of many pressings from the 1950's.
The front of the thick cardboard jacket is nice and clean. There is some lamination wearing off near LR's right ear, at the spine. There is a crease/corner ding, bottom left corner. A little bit of staining along the opening of the jacket. Some flaking at the spine, and along some of the seams; small seam split on spine, in middle near that lamination flake. See close up pics.
The back of the jacket is not as clean as the front. Some staining along the opening and the top, and some light dirt/age marks.
Cleaned on my Clearaudio Matrix record cleaning machine and placed it in a premium Japanese inner sleeve. Jacket is stored in a premium Japanese re-sealable sleeve. All LPs listed are from my personal collection.
Goldmine book value of this 1957 mono record is $700 in NM condition.
