Description
Jessie Mae Robinson was a pioneering African American songwriter who wrote hits for Amos Milburn, Louis Jordan, Dinah Washington, and Charles Brown. Her songs were also recorded by Elvis Presley, Wanda Jackson, Sarah Vaughan, Nina Simone, and Lana Del Ray. Here we have an acetate of a song by her called He's a Wonderful, Wonderful Boy that's in more of a pop/jazz direction. There are actually slightly different versions of the song on the two sides of the acetate, both represented in the video. The 10" 78 rpm acetate is in nice VG shape with storage marks. No lead sheet with this one, but an unusual handwritten studio label.
