Description
If you have seen any of these gag "record" covers (but actually originally containing a round birthday card), put out by Kanrom in 1962 and 1963, then you probably appreciate the warped humor. The cards which originally came with these (NOT included) told the recipient that the giver could afford the record jacket but did not have enough to buy the record. Photography for the jackets was by RA Cantu. This is a good starter set for the beginning collector who is trying to collect all 12 different record jackets put out in this series. NONE of these are in perfect condition, and all have various blemishes, but they are being priced cheaply from what these covers typically sell individually for. NONE of these have the original round birthday cards which originally accompanied them. I will note any blemishes below, but view the photos for the exact items you will receive:
Music for Mixed Emotions - 1962; some seam wear and chipping; shelf wear; a previous owner wrote a name in large letters on the back cover which is partially erased but still visible. See photos for more detail.
Music for Casual Affairs - 1962; The front and back labels were put on incorrectly, so when looking at the front cover the opening is to the left rather than the right side. Some shelf wear and staining; a wrinkle noted in the front cover paper to the left of the far left foot's small toe. See photos for more detail.
Great Piano Pieces - 1963; some seam and shelf wear; some seam splitting; some staining and small areas of missing paper on the front cover; see photos for more detail.
London Derriere and Other British Favorites - 1962; some edge and seam chipping' shelf wear; see photos for more detail.
Again, NONE of these have the original round birthday cards that originally accompanied them. They are intended to fill a spot in your collection at a reasonable price until you decide to replace them with higher cost ones in better condition, which is what I have done over time as I chose to spend considerable more on higher priced covers. They would look great framed. Please review the photos before bidding.
