Description
This is a fine original U.S. pressing copy of the first volume in the long running Highs in the Mid Sixties series, released in 1983. Put out by the same label that issued the later volumes of the Pebbles series, Highs in the Mid Sixties features deep dives into the garage, folk-rock, psych, etc. records put out by groups in different cities and regions. The first three volumes in the series focused on Los Angeles. Volume 1 features folk-rock and early punk singles by groups well known to collectors like the Standells, the Starfires, the Grains of Sand, and the Lyrics, as well as lesser known groups. There are brief bios of each group on the back jacket. The jacket has some creasing in one corner, and is otherwise close to pristine -- EX(+). The disc is clean with a little light scuffing, and plays with light surface noise audible between some tracks (not counting the noise from the source discs) (EX+).
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
