Description
In 1956, Chrysler partnered with Columbia Records to make Highway Hi-Fi, 7"vinyl records that played in your car at 16 1/2 rpm. This is the introductory box that includes six records covering a wide variety of atrists and musical styles. Also included is a seventh record, "1956 Dodge Demonstration Ride." This record allowed you to take a test drive without a salesman present since the record explains the car's features as you drive.
The records look to be in quite good shape, although the box does show a little wear and some of the paper sleeves are torn. NOTE: These records were designed to play on special car players and have EXTREMELY small grooves, that's how each one could play for an hour or more. If you try to play them using a regular phonograph needle, even if your turntable has a 16 1/2 rpm speed, you risk damaging the tiny grooves!
Shipping is $3.00 via USPS to US and Canada only.
