A genuine UK Autumn 1969 Mono pressing on Parlophone [An EMI one-box]. Matrix 1/1. By summer 1969 the Mono format was pretty much defunct. Getting hold of mono copies at this point in time was likely done by 'mail-order special request'. This title was first released to the market in Summer 1968. A mono pressing, like this one, is just 12 months from 1st release and the masters would still have been in pristine condition. But take a good look at the preservation on this copy<<<<. The vinyl is pressed on lovely heavy sixties stock and comes housed in an original Mono triple flipbacks cover with pinched spine. We also have the original EMI advertising inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) Ok, this copy really is preserved in terrific condition. It is VERY unusual to see a true 60's Lp looking anywhere near this pristine. The label shots give you an idea of the level we are talking about - hardly any evidence of use. A close inspection of the surfaces backs this up - all the lustre of a very very lightly used copy. Hardly a spindle trace and only one slight visible mark at the end of side 1 [a miniscule one which does NOT sound]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level without reservation. Don't underestimate a consistent grading a this level - particularly on this title..it has a lot of fussy lowkey numbers. Because this copy is so pristine, in mono, and still close onto those fresh masters audio reproduction is fantastic. I don't think I've ever witnessed a better copy for audio and that includes really smart copies from the preceding 12months. Every last nuance and intricate sound is picked up with tremendous clarity. Not a whiff of background anywhere. Barely a single crackle. You won't ever see or a hear a better rendition - period. FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Vg+) Not up to the standard of the vinyl, but still more than respectable. A clean and flat front cover. Hardly any creasing, but just some slight sticker residue in top left and one miniscule nick. The rear has avoided most of the usual ageing process - but there is some low level brown tiny specks [so not faultless]. Hardly any edge wear and firm openings. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. No splits.
