Home, 'The Alchemist' is the third album from this London based prog/rock band recorded in 1973 and released in July that year. Guitarist Mick Stubbs & David Skillin wrote most of the tracks with the rest of the band contributing the music. This concept album has definate shades of the Pretty Thing's 'SF Sorrow' about it and was hailed as a masterpiece by the music press. After 'The Alchemist' failed to chart the band toured the US with Al Stewart, but split in 1974 after recording a final unreleased album.

This is the first issue, with the rough orange CBS labels, the earliest A-1 B-1 matrices and A-12 A-10 stampers.
 

The Shorepak matt gatefold sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light edge/storage wear and a little storage rubbing on the outer cover, but there is a pin hole and a small sticker mark on the front cover. The spine is intact and fully readable and the CBS inner is intact & in VG+ condition.   The record is in visually EX+ condition, with no scratches or nasty marks & only a couple of faint hairlines and one or two small needle marks/scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with evidence of one or two faint spindle markings on each side. Overall the record still retains all its original sheen and looks great.   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops, hiss or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there some brief background noise during the run in grooves, Overall, a really great, loud & clear listen.   The matrix nos. are; S-65550, A-1 mother stamper A-12, B-1 mother stamper A-10. This is one of the early pressings of the original 1973 1st UK stereo pressing of this album.

  All lp's are sent in cardboard record mailers with plastic covers and cardboard stiffeners to protect the LP's!!   UK Signed For Postage is £4.50 for the first LP & is the same for up to four single LP's or two double LP's or more up to 2kg.
