Description
Hopi Klansmen LP, Garage Rock / Surf Rare Private Pree Early 60’s Acid Archives Up for your consideration is a Hopi Klansmen LP from the 60‘s. This was a recent storage unit find unknown history of item . I don’t know how to rate condition of LP but I did play it and it did not skip anywhere. There are some scratches on LP and I would say it is in fair played condition. One of the band members Ivan Sidney went on to become the Hopi tribes Chairmen but was ousted after 10 months in Office ( Albq. Journal 10-18-2006). A copy of this record recently sold for over $200. On eBay and I copied and pasted some of the info below. Please look at pictures and feel free to ask any questions prior to auctions end and bid accordingly . GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING.
COPIED FROM ANOTHER ENDED AUCTION ON EBAY "(Up for auction is truly a rare gem garage rock / private press genre. The Hopi Klansmen were a group of Hopi & Navajo kids who formed a band in the late fifties while in boarding school in the sixth grade. This is the first record they made when they were teenagers. This is real native American, early sixties, teen rock and roll!! This is a mega rare private press, original copy of this Lp, not any kind of reissue. I don’t believe this Lp has been re-issued. This one of the truly great, Holy grails of garage rock and surf records, half the tracks are garage rock and the rest are surf intros. This Lp is featured in the book “The Acid Archives” of rare private press records, believe me, its way more rockin than described.)"
SELLERS NOTE!!!! This LP is being relisted as the original buyer requested a refund due to conditon of LP. As stated of above I do not rate condition of LP. Buyer claimed it skipped, had scratches, crackled and had a stuck point. I did play on my record player with no problems except maybe some static noise. The record player I used does not have a tone arm but rather the cartridge is on a track in the lid of player ( maybe why no skip, etc.) With all this being said this LP is SOLD AS IS. So please ask any questions prior to bidding.
