HORACE SILVER QUINTET Six Pieces of Silver Blue Note BLP 1539
Up for auction is a 1966 (probably) Blue Note Monophonic (Early Liberty) pressing of the Horace Silver Quintet's fantastic 1956 session, "Six Pieces of Silver. A great session featuring Hank Mobley, Donald Byrd and Doug Watkins. Probably one of the finest lineups that Silver put together, and that is saying something considering all of the classic Silver quintet lineups. Includes the classic compositions "Cool Eyes" and "Senor Blues".
DEAD WAX INFO: Side 1 has BN-LP-1539-A-1 etched into the dead wax. Side 2 has BN-LP-1539-B- etched into the dead wax. Both sides have RVG and 9 M etched into the dead wax, as well as what appears a very light 114 etched into the dead wax (never really noticed this before).
VINYL VISUAL: VG+ and much better with few issues to speak of. Some very light marking. Great gloss. Labels show few plays. Could possibly use a cleaning for best play.
VINYL PLAY GRADE: VG+ and almost NM with very little noise (run-ins), and fantastic monophonic fidelity. Probably one of the better listens out there of this particular pressing, especially after a thorough cleaning.
COVER VISUAL: VG with some seam/spine wear and softened corners. Spine is starting to split.
Comes with Audiophile style heavy plastic inner.

Play grade is done on a Thorens TD 165 through Yamaha amplification and JBL reference headphones (treble set high so there will be no surprises when you get the item).
ALL ITEMS WILL BE SHIPPED WITH PROPER MAILERS AND EXTRA PADDING, PARTICULARLY AT THE CORNERS. I HAVE MADE FAR TOO MANY PURCHASES ON EBAY WHERE THE ITEM HAS ARRIVED WITH DINGED CORNERS DUE TO INADEQUATE PACKAGING MATERIAL. BY USING FOLDED BUBBLE WRAP IN ALL FOUR CORNERS, YOU CAN BE ASSURED OF AN ITEM WITHOUT DINGED CORNERS (OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND FOR THAT MATTER). Non-tracked shipping throughout the U.S.A will be $13 CANADIAN per item, as will tracked shipping within Canada. Tracked shipping to the U.S.A. will be $16 CANADIAN for items under 500g, and slightly more for items over 500g. Most single sleeve items can be shipped as under 500g. Gatefolds and multi-sets will be over 500g.
Being a reasonable person, I will be absorbing ALL of the shipping material cost, and some of the actual postage cost.

IF ANYONE OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS CRAZY INTERESTED IN ANY ITEM, I WILL QUOTE SHIPPING ON REQUEST.
