Description

This is the original deep-groove RVG-etched “P”-pressing of Horace Silver “6 Pieces of Silver” on the Lexington Ave. labels of Blue Note BLP 1539. The flat rim playing surface has just two light inaudible handling marks on Side 1 and one on Side 2, but is otherwise in beautiful condition, with a nice luster; perhaps played once or twice. The West 63rd St. cover is the second printing, bright and clean throughout; name in blue ink at the upper left corner of the back slick; 1 ½” wear on the bottom seam, at the opening. Personnel include Donald Byrd, Hank Mobley, Doug Watkins, and Louis Hayes. WE DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL. Please do not bid unless you are comfortable providing credit card information directly. The “Blue Note Records” book – “A Guide for Identifying Original Pressings” is now available on eBay.
