TITLE: The Giant Is Awakened
CONDITION:
Sleeve: The front & back covers are VG+ / The glossy lmination on the front cover has some light ring wear, a light 3" indent line at the top. Also has a tiny spot at the bottom left corner where the lamination is coming away from the cover (but still attached). The back cover has some light ring wear. The bottom seam is clean and intact w/ tiny spots of wear at the corners. The top seam has a whisper of wear. The spine is very nice and pretty much intact w/ 3 very tiny spots of paper loss but mostly readable graphics. The inside of the gatefold sleeve has a light water stain in the bottom, mostly in the very middle (see picture #3)
Record: However the really good part is the LP itself. It looks Mint- and by the spindle hole it looks like this LP may have been played once. I play graded this entire LP and it plays Mint- w/ fantastic sound presence! / VPI cleaned
COMMENTS: Original copy of this very rare and incredible Flying Dutchman LP produced by Bob Thiele. One of my all time fave Jazz LP's! It features the legendary West Coast pianist, arranger and composer Horace Tapscott and saxophonist Black Arthur Blythe. Has Van Gelder stamped in the dead wax which accounts for the excellent sound from his mastering job. Comes in very cool heavy gatefold sleeve. Thiele fashioned his covers after the Impulse covers that he used when he worked for them.
