Horace Tapscott Sextet - Dial B For Barbra LP
Nimbus Records. NS 1147. Silver label. Stereo. USA 1981.
plastic bag inner sleeve.
Graded cover/record Ex/NM
Cover is clean and whole but with minor corners bumps.
Lables and vinyl in top condition.
Instrumental jazz sextet in the free-form / spriritual jazz vein.
Tapscott on piano, Reggie Bullen - trumpet.Gary Bias - alto & soprano sax,
Sabir Matteen - tenor sax, Roberto Miguel Miranda - bass violin, Everett Brown JR - drums/percussion.
Tracks: Dial B For Barbra / Lately´s Solo / Dem Folks
He recorded several albums in different settings (solo, duo, trio, sextet, orchestra)
on the private lables created to publish his music, Nimbus and Interplay.
He did one LP on Flyin Dutchman and arranged and composed With Sonny Criss on his masterpiece,
Sonny's Dream (Birth of the New Cool) on Prestige, 1968.
Most of his piano play is both inventive and meditative.
