Offered at auction is an original pressing of Hound Records 333 "Stop This Feeling/That's The Way" 45 by The "Q", from 1970. This is a prime example of early New Orleans Soul, with a big horn section backing the singer. The record has been well-played, but the small surface scratches don't affect playback quality.
I have had this record since its release. I went to high school with the bandleader/writer, Reave Watkins. He continued to play sax in numerous New Orleans bands after The "Q".
This record is a favorite of the Northern Soul scene in the United Kingdom. The "Q" - That's The Way was covered by Richard Searling as James Lewis And The Case Of Tyme - That's The Way It's Gonna Be in the early 1980's, was probably played at Wigan Casino Allnighters but wasdefinitely played at Clifton Hall Allnighters at Rotherham.
