TOP OF THE TOP ITALIAN LIBRARY LP
Holy grail alert!
A really must-have for any Library / DJ vinyl collector and samples hunter. This is Silvano Chimenti/Romano Rizzati (alias Walter Rizzati) I GRES Vol.1, sought-after legendary Funk Library monster featuring the infamous track "RESTLESS" made famous by DJ Leacy in the past years, and including other top notch breaks and beats. Top famed Italian Hip Hop Funk Library gem / worldwide Dusty Fingers legend / DJs and beat makers big-shot. Vol.1 of 3, this is the best I GRES from the series. Totally Killer LP in pristine shape!
I GRES were a studio combo only founded by Silvano Chimenti that recorded 3 studio albums. Band name brings the members initials: the "G" of organist GIORGIO CARNINI (best Italian Library organ along with Antonello Vannucchi), "R" standing for maestro ROBERTO PREGADIO (piano), "E" was the drummer ENZO RESTUCCIA (best Italian drums ever along with Tullio De Piscopo) and the "S" of the leading band man SILVANO CHIMENTI at the guitars (Italian Library and Soundtrack guitar hero). The album contains some of the very best Funky & Groovy music ever recorded in Italy filled with plenty grooves in the whole process. Hard-hitting drum Breaks and hot Hip Hop beats / Psychedelic guitars / Infamous and breathtaking B-boy grooves / Top Funky numbers and moody Progressive Funk beats / Jazzy groovers, charming Bossa and Score Easy Listening vibes. Superb and cinematic throughout.
Among the tracks "RESTLESS" is the classic B-boy favourite cop Funk also used as main theme for the "Dibattito politico" 1975 TV programme. "VOLEUR" features exciting Funky sound: organ, horns, obsessive drumming and percussions. "JEANETTE" (sampled in 2002 by american Pop singer KELIS) is an enchanting Lounge-Bossa tune, "PLANCTON" special Rock-Blues with Chimenti's electric guitar in prominence and obessessive rhythm; "RONDE BOSSE" romantic Bossa theme, while "HOT DOGS" it's the Restless twin with an insane Funk groove, killer guitar distortions and monster drums offbeats - another Hip Hop Funk certain banger! - "GRUMBLING" is Giorgio Carnini playing cinematic tension theme at the organ. "NON CHALANT" it's a perfect movie ending theme, nostalgic Progressive beats composed by the brilliant Silvano Chimenti. MENTAL ITALIAN LIBRARY album, THE BEST!
