Golden Greats is the second solo album released by Ian Brown, the ex-frontman of The Stone Roses. Despite the title, the album is not a compilation, but a studio album.
It was described by NME as “a left- eld masterpiece and Brown’s best work for a decade”. The album contains soaring sonic textures and electronic dance beats; it is less song-oriented than Unfinished Monkey Business. Golden Greats showcases a diverse usage of instruments including strings, mellotron and organs.
