"SPRINGBOARD" - Ian carr quartet - Polydor 545007 - an UNPLAYED copy of this MEGA MEGA RARE LP!!!!!!! - The jacket too is in super condition with only very minor edge wear and very light rubbing, it is completely without splits or tears!! - This is only the second copy I've have seen in the last 4 years, it is so, so hard to find!! - This is a true masterpiece in Modal Britjazz, the leader is the now legendary Ian Carr on trumpet, with superb altoist, Trevor Watts, the immaculate Jeff Clyne on bass and the crisp delightful drumming of John Stevens. - -As you would expect this is a session of superlative jazz with huge modal overtones. All members play out of their skin on this beautiful programme of descriptive, emotional and flawlessly performed jazz. - All the numbers here, are originals by the group members, showing not only their musicianship, but the great feel and talent in their compositional prowess!! - - Trax are: "Les Neiges d'Antan", by Carr, "Helen's clown", "Love was born", from Trevor Watts, "Springboard" and "C4" from John Stevens and finally Jeff Clyne's own beautiful, "Ballad" - - I repeat, this is an AWESOME session, an absolute must for the collections of all lovers of great jazz and particularly Britjazz afficionados - YOU WILL LOOK LONG AND HARD TO FIND ANOTHER COPY, ESPECIALLY ONE THAT IS UNPLAYED! - - DON'T MISS THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!!
