The recent death of trumpeter Ian Carr was widely mourned on the UK jazz scene, though he had been inactive for some time. This rare and very collectable 7" ep was his second recording & an important slice of UK jazz history; like the first it featured Ian with the Emcee 5, led by his brother Mike, then a pianist and vibes player, now an organist. Recorded in 1961, it has the Carr brothers with Gary Cox (ten)/ Spike Heatley (bs)/ Ronnie Stephenson (dms) playing:
