According to research done by the Arab Music Archiving and Research (AMAR) Foundation of Lebanon, Ibrahim Sahloun (c. 1840-1920) began performing in the era before recorded music in Egypt, first in the Khedive’s palace in 1868. He formed a takht (a kind of small band) together with Mohammed Ibrahim in 1905, and recorded with Ibrahim until 1912, sometimes backing famous singers of the late 1800s-early 1900s such as Abdel Hai Helmi (see my other auctions for two records by that artist).
Condition: I am afraid I am not able to play 78 rpm records. Please see photos for condition. Recorded is complete (no cracks, missing pieces, etc.), with wear as to be expected for a record of this age. Please inspect the included photos carefully. **ITEM SOLD “AS-IS”**
Terms (Please read carefully): Payment via Paypal is due within THREE (3) DAYS – no exceptions. Buyer pays shipping. **NON-USA BIDDERS: I will ONLY ship outside of the USA using E-bay’s Global Shipping Program, since this is the only way that the parcel is traceable outside of the USA, which protects seller and bidder from loss. This program includes import fees and taxes which are not set by me, are not negotiable, and can be quite high. Please keep this in mind when you bid.**
US bidders: I am happy to combine items in order to save you money on shipping. Just let me know ahead of time if you are bidding on more than one item and I will send you a new invoice reflecting the correct shipping for all your wins (don’t pay the one sent by E-bay, which will charge the full shipping price for each individual item). Non-USA bidders: My apologies, but according to my recent conversations with E-bay customer service, the Global Shipping Program does not allow for combined shipping on international orders.
Your item(s) will be sent within ten (10) days of receiving cleared payment via Paypal.
Please check my other auctions for more items.
