Description
Description of item Ike Turner has many faces, including guitarist, pianist, bandleader, producer, and talent scout. This rare album, released in 1963 by Modern label Crown, is reissued on LP (recorded 1952-54).
In addition to the three rumba blues instrumentals "Cubano Jump," "Loosely," and "Cuban Get Away," which are popular among DJs and are the origin of his perverted, angry guitar instrumentals after heavy use of the tremolo arm, this album also includes the best rockin' blues, with lead vocals by Dennis Binder, who was a featured singer in the Kings of Rhythm, the strongest blues/R&B troupe of the 1950s led by Ike, who was active nationwide, mainly in the southern United States.
This album also includes Dennis Binder's singles and songs that were unreleased at the time, making it a superb blues/R&B album.
