Description
Here's a star of early talkie musicals, who never quite made it to the top: LAWRENCE GRAY. A dependable baritone, his trenchant voice and collegiate good looks earned him a place in Hollywood during the first blush of musical films. But he disappeared around 1930. As Joan Blondell says over Jimmy Cagney's lifeless body at the end of "Public Enemy," "He useta be a Big Shot."
Mr. Gray sings two song hits from his picture, MGM's "It's a Great Life": "I'M FOLLOWING YOU," and "I'M SAILING ON A SUNBEAM."
This original 1930 Brunswick 4631 is in mostly intact "E" condition.
